My friend Erin of Pippin & Pearl has recently tagged me, or should I say dared me, to admit 11 random things about myself. This is honestly a good thing because I’ve been meaning to blog for several days now. (*SIDENOTE- If anyone has suggestions on how they work full-time jobs and work in the time to blog, I’m all ears!) So I’m going to tag my friends Evie, Bianca, and Rachel to share a little about themselves over on their blogs, but here goes mine…
{1. Post these rules 2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things 3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post 4. Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them 5. Go to their blog/twitter and tell them you’ve tagged them.}
11 random things I thought I’d share with the world!
1. I must have one sweet thing a day. Seriously. Why deprive myself of such joy and deliciousness?! (Hence my ice cream picture above : ))
2. I still want to have a successful business one day. I just don’t want it to be my main source of income and I don’t want to feel stuck like I did with my store.
3. I don’t mean to be this way, but I’m waaaayyyy more crazy, silly, and funny at home and with my family than any of my friends or co-workers would guess. I should probably try to break out of my shell a little.
4. I had never played soccer in my life until my senior year of high school, and, some how, I became the varsity team captain. I still don’t quite understand that!
5. I drink Diet Dr. Pepper every morning, often before 8am. Is that bad?!?
6. If I could be any celebrity for a day, it would be Marion Cotillard. I mean, she is wildly beautiful, is untouchably glamourous, and is French! I wish I could have been her in Midnight in Paris…sigh*
7. My husband and I dated, were engaged, and married in under a year.
8. I have always loved being a student, and I think I’m quite good at it. If I could, I would go back to school for many things…graphic design, interior design, art history, psychology, and studio art! Maybe one day…
9. When I was younger, I spent the majority of my days at my desk in my bedroom drawing layouts for gardens and rooms. I’ve always dreamed of having my own Secret Garden-type yard.
10. Since 2008, I’ve collected every Anthropologie catalog for inspiration. Four years later, I’m working for my dream company. I spend my days walking as fast as possible, trying to act like I know all the answers, and sometimes merchandising the home products. The hardest part of the job is trying not to buy everything I see!
11. I’m 24, and sometimes I feel like an adult. Other times, I feel like a girl trying to act or appear older than she is. Does anyone else ever feel that way?
11 questions answered:
1. What is the most embarrassing song you love to sing along to?
Well, I have always love the song “My Achey, Breaky Heart” by Billy Ray Cyrus, but these days I love to sing “Sexy and I know it” by LMFAO.
2. When was the last time you cleaned out your refrigerator?
Literally, last week because we were moving. But on a normal basis, I still clean it out frequently. I hate that nastiness!
3. Who taught you to dance and what is your signature move?
Probably my mom. I’ve been dancing since I was born though. My mom said I always started moving around a lot when I heard music. But when I really got serious about dancing around age 7, my mom taught me to shimmy. And boy, can I shimmy!
4. What is your favorite season and why?
Hmm…I’d have to say fall. I just love being cozy. Sweaters, wool socks, boots, love em! Plus, fall is so crisp and cool. It’s just a lovely time of year.
5. What’s the most interesting place you’ve ever traveled to?
Either Scotland or Guatemala. Scotland was interesting because we traveled the whole country, saw many castles, and learned a lot of their unique history. Guatemala was interesting because it’s such a different way of life. Beautiful and sad at the same time.
6. What characteristics do you value most in your friends?
I love loyalty, humor, creativity, and most importantly a kind heart.
7. What word best describes your personality?
My name actually means “a flower”. I think it’s kind of fitting. I’m kind of reserved at first but give me time and I’ll open up. (Cheesy, I know.)
8. What color are you most nervous to wear?
I’m always hesitant when I comes to chartreuse. It’s so popular this season and such a fun pop of color, but I feel like my peaches & cream complexion can’t handle all that! So, I bought a chartreuse skirt hoping that if it’s not by my face it’ll be okay!
9. What do you photograph the most?
Uh, definitely my cat. Probably 50% of the pictures on my phone are my kitty. Then, 30% is my home or Anthro merchandising pictures. And the other 20% is just randomness.
10. If you had one last meal to eat, what would it be?
Pizza. Pizza. Pizza.
11. Best movie one-liner you ever heard?
“It wasn’t over…It still isn’t over!” -The Notebook. Yes, I’m a sucker for that movie. It’s just undeniably romantic.
